Broden was originally solely the keyboard player and became vocalist on a stand in basis, which eventually became the permanent arrangement

One of the best bands I found out about last year, love them so much. And their gig in Jalometalli Winerfest 2009 was also one to be remembered, one of the best I've been to. Got to shake Joakim's hand.

I'm working on samples right now from the new album, they will be added to the Ruoska's samples folder *

UPRISING

Warsaw Rise!

Do you remember when,
when the s forced their rule on Poland.
1939 and the allies turned away,
from the underground,
rose a hope of freedom as a whisper.
City in despair,
but they never lost their faith

Women,
men and children fight,
they were dying side by side,
and the blood they shed upon the streets,
was a sacrifice willingly paid

Warsaw,
city at war,
voices from underground,
whispers of freedom.
1944 help that never came,
calling.
Warsaw,
city at war,
voices from underground,
whispers of freedom.
Rise up and hear the call,
history calling to you.
Warszawo, walcz!

Spirit,
soul and heart,
in accordance with the old traditions.
1944 still the allies turn away,
fighting street to street,
in a time of hope and desperation.
Did it on their own,
and they never lost their faith

All the streetlights in the city,
broken many years ago.
Break the curfew,
hide in sewers.
Warsaw,
it's time to rise now *

They are, i love Final Solution ,WEHRMACHT and SCREAMING EAGLES. .maybe more Wehrmacht, i reckon its because it poses a question i get the feeling is almost tabboo, its like were brought up to believe the enemy were all monsters, not trying to claim the 's were good people, dont missunderstand me, just when i got t my late teens i realised what a soldier was, that the regular german servicemen were just as ours were. .aswel as question the at what point id have protested.. Realised if we indiscriminately paint our enemy are monsters, were almost excused from being a touch monsterous ourself. *

aenglisc 6.07.10 - 10:29pm
WEHRMACHT:

Pulled into war,to serve a vision thats supposed to last a thousand years, part of a machine, unstoppable, as merciless as tidal waves

Were they victims of their time, or proud parts of larger goals?
propaganda of the Reich, masterful machine.

Time and again the battle rages on beyond the gates of missery, as casualties rise and millions die around them, did they see it all?

Crazy madmen On a leashe, or young men whove lost their way?
Grand illusions of the Reich may, seem real at times

Panzers on a line from the Wehrmachts spine, leathal grand design. . .what about the me executing order?
ad victoriam
ex machina non sibi sed patriae
Pulled into war t serve a vision that just didnt last a thousand year, part of machine, though stoppable, as merciless as tidal waves *

ruoska 7.07.10 - 12:18am
That's very well put, couldn't have said it better myself. Wehrmacht is really growing to be my favourite from the album. Still in my books The Price of a Mile is their best slow song. Posting the song's lyrics here:

The Price of a Mile

Hear the sound of a machinegun
Hear it echo in the night
Mortals firing rains the scene
Scars the fields
that once were green

It's a stalemate at the frontline
where the soldiers rest in mud
roads and houses
all is gone
there is no glory to be won

know that many men will suffer
know that many men will die
half a million lives at stake
Ask the fields of Paschendaele

And as the night falls the general calls
and the battle carries on and on
How long?
What is the purpose of it all
What's the price of a mile?

Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army on the march
Long way from home
Paying the price in young men's lives
Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army in despair
Knee-deep in mud
Stuck in the trench with no way out

Thousands of machineguns
Kept on firing through the night
Mortars blazed and wrecked the scene
Guns in the fields that once were green

Still a deadlock at the frontline
Where the soldiers die in mud
roads and houses since long gone
still no glory has been won
know that many men has suffered
know that many men has died

Six miles of ground has been won
Half a million men are gone
And as the men crawled the general called
And the killing carried on and on
How long?
What's the purpose of it all?
What's the price of a mile?

Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army on the march
Long way from home
Paying the price in young men's lives
Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army in despair
Knee-deep in mud
Stuck in the trench with no way out

Young men are dying
They pay the price
Oh how they suffer
So tell me what's the price of a mile

That's the price of a mile.

Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army on the march
Long way from home
Paying the price in young men's lives
Thousands of feet march to the beat
It's an army in despair
Knee-deep in mud
Stuck in the trench with no way out *

aenglisc 11.07.10 - 02:09pm
Supurb. Ill have to listen for that, dont believe have yet.

i notice on a few videos, that being a band with a large European following the crowed shout SA-BEY-TON, Whereas if theyd been mostly English, theyd shout SABAAAYTAN. .its amazing what a few miles of water can do *

ruoska 12.07.10 - 06:27am
If you like Coat of Arms then no doubt you'll like The Art of War also *

ruoska 13.07.10 - 06:47am
Oh and here they would chant... Well SA-BA-TON. *

aenglisc 17.10.10 - 01:46am
no doubt Joakim owns the crowed, a finger to the lips and the world falls silent..a waved hand over then and a rising of his palm, and the world erupts in song, at level of his choosing -awsome *

ruoska 15.11.10 - 04:08pm
Definitely one of the best live bands I've ever witnessed! *

aenglisc 5.12.10 - 07:26pm
when I saw them, I went with an old pal of mine. .comming from the same background as me, he wasnt convinced, but he came all the same. .needless t say. .he absolutely love it, and spent the next week telling me how great they are. *
